Creating Sacred Space for Meditation

Want to create a quiet, inspiring space for rituals like meditation or yoga — or just a place in your home that helps you feel more connected to what’s meaningful in your life?

Creating your own sacred space lets you express your very human need for ongoing spiritual nourishment. Whether it’s at home, at work or in some “third space” such as a hotel room when traveling, everyone can benefit from creating places where they intentionally choose what surrounds them.

Your sacred space might contain a single object such as a statue, sculpture or private altar you deliberately place in a special location, or it may be an entire room or garden or even your entire home arranged with furnishings, objects and décor that have special meaning for you.

The places you live and work can make your spirituality more a part of your everyday life. And that can go a long way toward helping you feel more centered, grounded and happy.

I’ve been thinking about redoing home and in doing so, I’m thinking of the decor and making the space more sacred. More of what I want in my life.

By making the art in your home a direct reflection of what you have and want in your life. For example: If you want a relationship, hang images of couples on the walls and indulge in some sensual sculptures.

If you want to live in the countryside, have images of fields, woods and flowers all around you. Widening my idea of a vision board so my perfect life is everywhere I turn. Sacred comes from the root word meaning whole. To be your own self, wholly you, then, is to be connected to that divine spirit—God, Mother Earth, the Universal Life Force; however you perceive it.

When you say something is sacred to you, you mean it is special to you in an intrinsic way; maybe it helps you feel more whole. Depending on where you are coming from, you may discover sacred space in a church, a temple, a mountain grove, a rocky beach, an art museum, or even the historic home of Elvis, Virginia Woolf or Jackie Robinson. This thought is smile provoking, so hold it today as you walk around the rooms where you live. Where are you happiest in your home?

Then that spot is sacred for you. Sacred space feels inspiring, peaceful, comforting, or healing to body, mind, or spirit. When that space is your own house, it is easier to feel whole and connected in your daily life.

Use your power of intuition
Whether your life is urban, suburban or rural, whether your home is a sprawling estate or a studio apartment, you can create a special place for simple reflection, traditional meditation, ritual and ceremony.

It all starts with a desire within you, to make something beautiful. I want to make the sacred space in my house as comforting as I possibly can. I might have been inspired by a picture in a magazine, or something in a movie will trigger my thinking.  Go about finding another piece of furniture to do that or rearrange something and it just happens.

Remember that this space is yours. Honor your heart’s desires. Trust your intuition to show you where to put it, what to include, how to use it — and see where it takes you.

Natural Cleansing From Radiation Exposure

 

Have you ever thought about your exposure to radiation?

It is everywhere but more so these days with computers, cell phones and medical testing!

It has been a little while since my last post. I had been busy caring for myself. I had some stress related issues come into my life. And with them a few tests as well. One being a stress test.

I had some apprehension Radiation regarding it but had it done anyway.

Now, I’m in the process of cleansing my body from the radiation used.

Reading up on the issue I’ve come to find out radiation can be removed from your body through many natural methods and naturally occurring elements.

Learning about these could mean the difference between good health and the possibility of facing diseases.

There are moderate levels and severe levels of radiation.

Moderate radiation is from cell phone, microwaves,tanning beds, computers, airplanes and full body scans to x-rays, stress tests and CAT scans.

Severe is living near &  exposed to power plants, nuclear fall outs, working in radiation environments and treatments etc…

I recall back when Japan had a fall out I wrote an article….linking to David Wolfe’s recommendations. Today I want to share a few more easily accessible items:

Iodine – (Used for More High levels of radiation) One of the first diseases that can occur in people living near nuclear facilities that have faced a nuclear fallout is thyroid cancer. Potassium iodide, which is also known as the thyroid mineral can greatly help in preventing thyroid cancer as it can maintain the right balance of iodine in the thyroid. This compound also helps in the healthy functioning of the thyroid as a whole and protects it from both hyper and hypothyroidism.
Potassium iodide is FDA approved and available without prescription as well. You can also look at seaweed, which can prevent the occurrence of thyroid cancer, as a source of natural iodine.

Nascent iodine -(Used for More High levels of radiation) Nascent iodine is more expensive than potassium iodide, but it is more palatable and high dosages of it can be given to even children. Experts recommend that iodine should be used to saturate the thyroid as this would make it strong enough to reject radioactive elements from entering the body. Before deciding on the dosage, it’s still recommended to consult a doctor.

Spirulina – Spirulina is a super food that is derived from blue green algae and it has many health benefits. It is commonly used in various health drinks. People consume Spirulina for various reasons- to feel more rejuvenated, to strengthen the immune system or to detoxify the body.
Recent studies have indicated that Spirulina is also quite helpful in anti-radiation therapy and according to research that has been conducted with children in Chernobyl, Spirulina can also help as a medication for radiation poisoning. It can prevent the occurrence of diseases such as leukemia and help the body fight bacterial and viral infections. When taken orally, it can also help in removing barium from the body.

Chlorella – Chlorella is fresh water, single celled algae that contains the highest amount of chlorophyll in any known plant. Apart from having numerous benefits for the body, it is also one of the best known methods of expelling radiation from the body.

Chlorella, in particular, has the ability to neutralize radiation and remove toxins such as cadmium, dioxins and PCBs from the body. It’s ability to detoxify uranium, lead and copper has also made it very valuable, especially considering the scenario today.

When it comes to getting rid of radiation from your body, fulvic acid is right on top of the list, as it can break down heavy metals and toxins in the body and even throw it out of the system. It also doesn’t have any side effects.

Reishi mushroom – Reishi mushrooms, or Ling Zhi in Chinese, are known to have some amazing health benefits. They can strengthen the immune system and improve blood circulation. An important use of this mushroom that is very relevant today is that it is known to offer protection against ionizing radiation.

Magnesium – Magnesium is an important mineral in our bodies and is associated with a variety of benefits. Primary among these benefits today is that magnesium helps in removing heavy metals that encourage radiation damage from our body. Magnesium oil is one of the best possible ways in which it can be incorporated into your body.

Other radiation elimination recommendations

Juice fasting for 1-3 days on organic veggies or

Eating a raw diet of veggies & raw fruits  7-10 days

lemonade

As well as a diet consisting of a lemonade cleanse

The  Cleanse begins with preparing the Lemonade drink.

During the diet or fast you will only consume the Lemonade that you make each day. You should prepare the Lemonade each day in the morning so that it is fresh and retains as much of the nutrients and energy as possible. Lemonade made over 24 hours ago will not be effective.

 

To make the Lemonade you will need the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons of organic lemon Juice (about 1/2 a Lemon)
2 Tablespoons of Organic grade B maple syrup (not the commercial maple flavored syrup you use on pancakes)
1/10 Teaspoon Cayenne pepper powder
Eight to Ten ounces of filtered water

**There are a couple important things to remember when preparing the lemonade.
Don’t use concentrated lemon juice, the lemon juice used must be fresh squeezed. This cannot be emphasized enough. It is necessary to use fresh produce. Canned or bottled juices won’t work and will erase most of the benefits of doing the cleanse.

Also, the maple syrup must be grade B maple syrup, not the sugar filled syrup that is used at the breakfast table.

The cayenne pepper might seem unnecessary, but it is actually very important. Not only does it help to add a bit of a kick, but the pepper helps to break up mucus and increases healthy blood flow. It also is a good source of B and C vitamins, commonly referred to as Super Vitamins due to their many benefits for the body. This is similar to my recommended  daily breakfast drink in my classes!

 

Before Going On The Cleanse

The  Cleanse should not be done if you are pregnant, or nursing.

The  Cleanse is a restrictive diet, and even though thousands of people have successfully completed the  Cleanse with huge success and health benefits It’s always best to check with a doctor before going on the  Cleanse – especially if you have any preexisting health conditions.

As with any cleanse; consult your nutritional expert if you have questions.

I will be cleansing with these tips myself, to enhance my recovery from the exposure I have had. 

****Do frequent  body brushing & very hot baths****

Soaking for 20-30 min with 1 c sea salt, 1 c baking soda, and 2 c bensonite clay; 2 times per month for 2 months for moderate level or 1 time per week for severe exposure.

Herbs  helpful as well are: Milk thistle, astragulus, Irish Moss, Kelp

As well as Chlorella, spirulina, seaweeds, all dark greens, parsley ginger, onions, beets, garlic, apples, oranges, citrus, plums, gooseberries, cherries, alfalfa and sprouts

What is the obsession with Green Smoothies??

Green Smoothies and drinks are all the Rage….

Do you wonder Why?

When I first learned about them I was very skeptical until I investigated a bit more deeply.

I found a lot of information on them from Victoria Boutenko. She wrote about them and won numerous science awards proving that the best protein is dark leafy green vegetables.

She say this also:

“In 2004, I had already been eating a raw food diet for more than ten years and although switching to an all raw diet had allowed me to reverse my most serious conditions – edema, arrhythmia, and depression – I still wasn’t experience the most vibrant health that I was looking for. When I recognized how many greens we humans are supposed to consume daily, it became clear to me that I had to come up with an utterly new approach. From the study of human anatomy I learned that for the best possible absorption, the greens have to enter the digestive tract in liquefied form.”

But most of us don’t or won’t  eat them,  instead we go the meat which is second hand protein because the cows eat the green grasses-or so we  hope! Therefore  the most purest form of protein is from nature not the animal.

Most of you may know, I like to eat as healthy as possible, on most occasions, so I fell in love with Green  smoothies and all their variations. I’ve  also healed my acid indigestion, depression and even my blood pressure is down! 

So, if your not as healthy as you want to be or have signs of dis-ease, you might also consider adding a green drink into your diet; to get the benefits of the wonders of nature into you body and to heal you as well.

I’ve been researching Ayurveda as well.

I came upon Nadya Andreeva, and her principles really resonated with me…she says this:

” You can eat the cleanest, most organic food on earth, and still feel constipated, bloated, and sluggish. Why? Because the way your body breaks down food is closely tied to the way you treat yourself. When you’re constantly rushing, binging/under eating, or thinking negatively, your digestive system takes the hit.

From there, the symptoms spread. Your immune system, mood, hormones, skin, body odor, energy levels, and sex drive are all affected. Worst of all, your stomach becomes a focus of anger and self-criticism.”

Do you feel that your stomach seems to let you know how your feeling? I know I did. I remember growing up with ulcers as a child and constipated beyond belief! Having family dinners where I just felt so uneasy that I didn’t want to eat because of the stress! Then, I’d eat later when everyone was asleep because it was less stressful, but I overate & binge’d on junk food, then went to bed. So, so very bad for your digestion & health!
